Tour Itinerary

If you want to fall in love with Armenia and discover mysteries of this country of sun, this round trip is a good opportunity to do it. This tour with overnights in 3 cities includes the most visited sights in Armenia. You will get acquainted with Armenian culture, history and cuisine. It’s a good opportunity to travel in time, going back to the era of paganism, experience intercultural dialogue that is the ideal form of intercultural communication while communicating with the locals and be a co-author of this ancient culture.

Day 1: Arrival

Arrival at the international airport “Zvartnots”. You will be met by our English – speaking guide and transferred to the hotel. Check-in and accommodation in the hotel. Then you will have a city tour around Yerevan.

Overnight in Yerevan.

Day 2. Yerevan – Garni – Geghard – Yerevan

In the morning after breakfast you will see one of the most ancient buildings in Armenia. It is the only preserved pagan temple on the territory of Armenia- Garni temple situated in the gorge and surrounded with picturesque mountains. You can have lunch in Garni and taste Armenian  national dishes. Then you will visit a monastery complex of Geghard which is listed in the World human heritage by UNESCO. Optional: master-class  of lavash (Armenian national bread) baking! Return to Yerevan

Day 3: Yerevan – Sevan – Dilijan- Hagartsin – Parz Lake –Yerevan

After breakfast we will point of our tour is  Dilijan, the Armenian Switzerland which is known for its bushy forests, the  architectural masterpiece of monastery  complex of Hagartsin.  You will also visit Parz Lake, located in the Dilijan National Park. “Parz” in Armenian means clear.

Return to Yerevan

Day 4. Yerevan–Saghmosavank–Sanahin– Haghpat– Zarni Parni– Yerevan

After breakfast you will go to Aragatsotn and Lori regions.  In Aragatsotn  you will visit Saghmosavank – “The monastery of the Psalms”,  a 13th-century Armenian monastic complex located in the village of Saghmosavank. Then your excursion will continue to Lori region where you see  the two medieval  monasteries   of  Haghpat and Sanahin which were chosen as UNESCO World Heritage Sites.The route includes a visit to “ Zarni Parni ” cave, from where a wonderful view of Lori gorge opens..

Return to Yerevan.

Day 5: Yerevan-Gyumri

After breakfast you will go to discover the cultural capital Gyumri, which is the second largest city in Armenia after Yerevan. The first stop will be in Harich village, where we will get acquainted with the history of Harichavank, the jewel of Shirak province. Then we will go to Gyumri, walk through the streets of the colorful capital, visit churches Seven Wounds, St. Nshan, St. Amenaprkich. During the city tour we will also visit the famous Black Fortress, which is part of the military-architectural complex of Alexandrapol Fortress. The buildings of Gyumri’s historical and cultural significance, also known from the films, which are considered the business card of the city, will make our tour even more impressive and full. Free time will be allocated during the tour as well. If you wish, you can also visit museums.

Return to Yerevan.

Day 6: Yerevan -Khor Virap-Areni-Noravank-Jermuk

In the morning we proceed to visit Khor Virap monastery which is considered a cradle of Armenian Christianity. From the walls of the monastery you will enjoy a majestic view over Ararat mountain. The next destination is Noravank, a monastery complex hidden among the red rocks located in Vayots Dzor region. In the village of Areni we offer you a wine degustation because this region is famous for its rich wineries. Then we arrive in Jermuk for overnight in a local hotel.

Day 7. Jermuk-Sisian

After breakfast you will go to discover the curut resort Jermuk. At the Jermuk Mineral Water Gallery, we will have the opportunity to taste mineral water of different temperatures. Within the framework of the city tour we will visit the famous waterfall called “Mermaid’s Hair”. Then we arrive in Sisian for overnight in a local hotel.

Day 8. Sisian-Tatev-Khndzoresk

After breakfast you will go to Khndzoresk. In addition to the cave dwellings in Khndzoresk, we will also see the tomb of Mkhitar Sparapet, as well as 2 churches of the 15th-17th centuries. Then we will visit the Tatev monastery, where you can sit on the record-ropeway. One of the miracles of nature, the Devil’s bridge, is located on the bottom of Tatev monastery, in the 500-meter gorge of the Vorotan river. We will also have a stop in front of the beautiful Shaki Waterfall.

Overnight in Sisian.

Day 9. Sisian-Sevan-Tsaghkadzor-Yerevan

After breakfast you will go to Sevan. Our first stop will be in Sevanavank monastery, to reach which we have to climb several dozen steps starting from the peninsula. After getting acquainted with the history of the monastery, and you sail on Sevan Lake, which, by the way, is the second highest freshwater lake on earth. Our next stop will be resort city Tsakhkadzor. After getting acquainted with the history of Kecharis monastery complex.

Return to Yerevan.

Day 10. Free day

Day 11. Yerevan-Vernisage-Ejmiatsin-Zvartnots

We recommend you to visit the Vernissage –an open air fair where you can buy national  souvenirs made by local craftsmen. You will visit the spiritual and administrative center of Echmiadzin  which is  one of the historic capitals of Armenia and the main religious center of the Armenian people with the Echmiadzin Cathedral, the most important Armenian Apostolic church. Besides the Cathedral you will visit St.Gayane, St.Ripsime and St. Shogakat churches. On the way back –another object from UNESCO heritage list – the ruins of Zvartnots cathedral. Return to Yerevan.

Day 12. Yerevan – airport

Transfer to the airport to your flight.
